１０代の頃、バイト代が手に入ると相模原のお好み焼き屋に友達と駆け込んだもんだ。
あの頃の豚玉は４００円程度で店の名前を冠したスペシャルなお好み焼きは６００円ぐらいだったかな。
細かく刻まれたキャベツに種と揚げ玉、肉と卵の混ぜて熱々の鉄板に放り込む。
すぐに弱火に変えてじっくりと火を通す。ビールを飲んだり青リンゴサワーを煽ったり。
時代が変わり(ちなみにその店は今でも健在だ)物価も上がり、情報は速くなり、とは言え誰もが自分の事で精一杯になった現在。
暖簾をくぐって小上がりに座る店はなく、駅ビルの中にもお好み焼き屋が出来るようになった。
そんなことはどうでも良いのだけれども、お好み焼きは自分で焼くのが醍醐味なのだな。
逆に云うならばお好み焼きぐらい自分で上手く焼けなければ人生にはあまり意味がないのだ。
冷たいビールを飲んでお好み焼きを突き、ホルモン焼きやイカ焼きを口に放り込み自堕落な午後は過ぎていく。
