平日11時過ぎの訪問。入口右の小上がり席に着き、写真付きメニュー表から せいろ(とろろ付) 1,050円税込に決め、やや太目で普段着着用の無粋なお姉さんに、大盛りを促されましたが普通盛でオーダー。
完成までは5分程度。
・せいろ(つけとろ）
極細だけど弱々しくなく、味気ないように見えるけど風味も楽しめる面白いそば。
岩のりがトッピングされます。
このそばを、キレイなのか綺麗でないか分からないうえに、滑りやすいし、しかも料理が不味く見える黒いプラ製の箸で食べなくてはならないので気分は下がるが、つゆをたっぷり注いだ看板の月見とろろに、無遠慮承知でどっぷりとそばを漬け、音を気にせず豪快にすすれば小幸せ。そばはおよそ250gと記載あり。（湯本で提供されたものは、ひときわ目を引く竹製の美しい天削箸でありました）
この内容で税込み1,050円。趣のある湯本新館とは価格設定に若干の差があるものの、什器や客応対を含め雰囲気は雲泥の差。
奥ゆかしい情緒は一切感じられませんでした。
