It is very difficult to find a restaurant in Kochi that serves a meal at a later time. As Kochi is famous for its many heavy drinkers, there are many restaurants that serve alcohol at a later time. I found an Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) in Kochi that is OK for meals. When I asked, "Is it okay if I'm alone and I'm going to eat?", they kindly guided me inside! They said they'll bring the drinks first, so I asked if it was okay to have non-alcoholic drinks, and they said it was. I ordered a non-alcoholic beer, but it was Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). The appetizer was well-presented, and the "addictive cabbage" was so delicious that I considered ordering it separately. While waiting for the main course, I ordered "chicken skin ponzu" from the speed menu, which was quite delicious! Then the main course, chicken nanban, appeared. It was quite a large portion! And since the restaurant seems to specialize in yakitori, all the chicken dishes are delicious!! And then the rice dishes. The fried rice called Yakitori-ya no fried rice is a very fitting name. The finely chopped chicken is a bit unusual, but the flavor was solid!! I found a great restaurant! I'll definitely go here again when I go for a meal at a later time! !
