As I was wandering around, I came to a store called ``Ogane'' that specializes in conger eel. Enter quickly. I was given a choice of roasted frosting, liver grilled, and shirayaki, along with alcohol, and if I had to ask for just one more thing...so I had fresh conger eel prepared and made into Tempura. That's awesome! Tamaran is neither hamo nor eel, but has a unique flavor and aroma of fat. Well, I was alone so I splurged quite a bit, but I have no regrets. It should be quite reasonably priced for two people. Of course, both the sweet and spicy dishes and rice bowls are on the menu, so I think it's okay to eat just that. When I go to Kyoto, I found a store that I want to visit again.
