昭和9年創業のレトロ喫茶。
壁にさりげなく掛けられた絵画の中にはフランスの某有名画家の原画（！）もあって、まるで美術館のような空間。そんな中でいただくレアチーズケーキはもちろん自家製。ブルーベリーソースのレアチーズは、甘酸っぱいシンプルな味わいが美味。酸味のあるコーヒーとも相性◎。ほかにもしっかり焼き上げたドイツ風のケーキもそろう。 |
喫茶室という響きが好き。
喫茶店より女性っぽくて、清潔感があるイメージ。
このお店は、まさに喫茶室の名に相応しい。
教会のような白い天井とステンドグラス。
そして白百合がいけてありました。
チーズケーキの他にもケーキがあり、迷いましたがプリン。
オレンジのコンフィが飾られたプリンは、少しかためで足の長いグラスに盛り付けられています。

昭和9年、四条小橋から直ぐの路地に開店した、クラシック音楽とコーヒーのお店。
当時の若い芸術家たちが設計し、名画の複製も 含めてサロン風の贅沢な喫茶店。
オーナーの意図は、戦時色が深まり自由な言論が困難になっていく時代に抗して、 反戦や前衛的な芸術を議論する場として、このフランソアを提供しようとしたそう。
「野にすみれが自由に咲く時代である」という言葉に勇気づけられた若者も大勢いた。
フランソアに通った青年の中には、今は亡き藤田嗣治、宇野重吉、桑原武夫が居たようだ。
