京都では初の串揚げ屋さん体験です。先斗町の細い路地にそれも気を付けないと通り過ぎてしまいそうな佇まいです。立地・外観ともにたいへん京都らしく期待させてくれます。
ちょっと入るのに躊躇するくらい小さな戸を開けて中に入りますと、なんて言うんでしょう、ちょっと外観から思っていたのとは異なる雰囲気。狭いとか広いとかといった物理的な違和感ではなく、お店の雰囲気が堅い感じ。空気が動いてないというか。隠れ家的な外観から想像する店内に入った瞬間のワクワク感や包まれ感が希薄でした。
お料理は串揚げでおまかせですが、単品の注文も可能です。（少し割高になりますが。）串以外にも何種類かちょっとしたサイドメニューもありました。飲み物は「ワイン」と店名の前にわざわざ付記していることを考慮するともう少し種類があってもよいかと思います。ワイン好きはワインの種類が多いだけで気持ちが上がりますし、オーダーしない（できない）としてもちょっと高価なワインが置いてあるとやはりワクワクしますし、お店の「格」も上がると思いますので、このあたりは是非一考頂きたいところです。
私たちは好きなものを食べたかったので、おまかせにせず単品の注文としました。これですとおいしかった串をもう一度注文できますからね！
で串の種類ですが、食べログ上では「20種類以上ご用意」とあるのですが私たちの訪問日は3種類のデザート串を含めて15種類ほど。もう少し種類が欲しかったですね。内容もどれも美味しく頂きましたが、見た瞬間、食べた瞬間「わぁ！」という感じの驚きがあればなおいいのですがそれはなかったです。このあたりお店の雰囲気がいまひとつ盛り上がらないのも起因しているでしょうかね？
串に関しては大阪にも名店が数多くあって、これまでもいろんなお店を経験してきましたので、ちょっと基準が上がっているかもしれません。でも京都しかも先斗町という立地を考えると、やはりもう一工夫いろいろあってもいいかなという全体の印象です。でないとリピート客呼び込むのが難しいかも。頑張れ！
