Go to [Benjamin Steakhouse Kyoto], which opened in December 2018 and is a 3-minute walk from Karasuma Station. I visited the NY main store about 10 years ago, but this is my first time visiting a Japanese restaurant, so I'm excited. We went up the stairs, where the walls were lined with photos of VIP visits taken in New York, and were led to the box seats on the second floor. You can see the wine cellar through the glass, but since I'm currently not allowed to drink alcohol, I decided to hold back and toast with a non-alcoholic sparkling called Celeble, which is made from wine grapes. This time, we will have the Porterhouse Steak Dinner Course for 16,363 yen. ●The two types of bread are soft bread with walnuts and hard bread with flax seeds. Both are warm, fragrant, and delicious. Whipped butter is fluffy like air and disappears quickly. ●The appetizer is Caesar salad with bacon. Romaine lettuce, lots of cheese and croutons, and a large piece of grilled bacon. It doesn't have the greasy feeling that is common in overseas salads, and focuses on the flavor of the anchovies and Parmesan. Although the portion is large, you can eat it in one go. ●Today's soup is a pie-wrapped soup made with seasonal Kyoto vegetables, Shogoin turnip and Kintoki carrot. The slightly orange cream soup has a gentle and mild taste. It warms you from the core of your body. ●USDA Prime Certified by the United States Department of Agriculture, our aged meat Steak are a sight to behold! Since it is a bone-in T-bone, it looks larger than 500g. In order for the course to be called porterhouse, which is the name of the course, the portion of fillet must be at least 1/3. SECOM seems to strictly control the temperature of the refrigerator where meat is stored. The type of beef is the highest quality fillet of American Black Angus meat. It is aged for 28 days or more to remove excess water and fat, so you can enjoy it even in this amount. The lean fillet is both juicy and tender, making it an exquisite dish. The sirloin fills your mouth with flavor and makes you want red wine. I added an original ketchup-based sweet and salty sauce halfway through, but personally, I liked it better without adding anything because it gave it a more meaty texture. ●Side dishes include classic mashed potatoes and cream spinach. The mashed potatoes are creamy, soft to the touch, and crunchy. The buttery spinach is melting in my mouth, and I want to eat a whole lot of it. ●Today's dessert is traditional American key lime pie and vanilla ice cream. Made with key lime and condensed milk, this cake has a sour taste similar to cheesecake, and is refreshing even after a meal. Is it more like a tart than a pie? With tea. The explanations of the meals were thorough and the timing of the serving was just right, so even though I'm not used to going to Steak, I felt at home. The first floor has a casual grill style, so I'm also interested in Hamburger. It seems that they are planning to open a store in Osaka in the future, so we look forward to seeing more of their success. Thank you for the meal ♩ ------------------------------------------------- ------ Post what you really like on Instagram @iamrika_ A person who loves music, food, and books Tokyo ------------------------- ---------------------------
