On a cold Kyoto night, enjoy our specialty "Chicken Hot Pot" and sake. [Table seating reservations accepted]
[4 minutes walk from Nijo Castle, Kyoto] A restaurant where you can casually enjoy authentic Kyoto Japanese Japanese-style meal and sake. The first thing you'll see when you enter the restaurant are t |
I went there with a colleague at night on the recommendation of a friend. It seems to be Cafeterias where you can read Jikido. We didn't make a reservation, but it was a little late, so we were able to get in without any problems. The restaurant is located in a quiet residential area between Karasuma Oike and Nijo Castle. We sat down at a table and ordered sashimi and chicken dishes made with Kyoto Akajidori chicken. After a while, they brought us appetizers, which were high quality, such as eel rolls, conger eel Sushi, and somen noodles, and we realized the high level of the restaurant. Our expectations for the meal rose. We toasted with beer, but when we looked at the cellar in the back, we saw that the sake lineup included Sharaku, Juyondai, Nabeshima, Dassai, and other famous sakes from all over the country, as well as a lineup of other impressive sakes. We could feel the owner's commitment, and I don't think there are many Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) that have such a wide lineup. We ordered various sakes and compared them, which went well with the sashimi and local chicken. We were a little tipsy, so we ordered Hot Pot at the end, which was also excellent. The food and drinks were generally of very high quality and the value for money was also good, so I was surprised to find an Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) of this calibre tucked away in such a residential area. It's a great place that I'd like to visit again in the future.
