京都の和食といえば安心して行けないほど高いお店が多いですが、ここ西角はそんなことはありません。ご主人の作る丁寧なお料理は、単品の注文もできますが、コースで頼んで頂くのが良いかと思います。前菜は９品くらいちょこちょこと出てきます。その後に四季折々の食材を使ったお料理が出てきます。主な特徴は椀物とメインが４種類ほどの甘鯛のお料理で構成されることです。
メインは必ず甘鯛なので、そんなに頻繁に行くわけではありませんが、思い出すたびに行きたくなるお店です。
