京阪出町柳駅から徒歩６分のところ。駐車場なし。当店は、京都を代表する京懐石のお店の一つ。大通りから１本中に入ったところで、落ち着いた雰囲気の外観。内観はそれほどの広さなく、１階にカウンター席、２階が個室の掘り炬燵式の座敷席。廊下が竹製になっているのが面白い。２階の座敷席に案内してもらった。予約は２か月前にして、週末に訪問。お昼はいずれも税サ別で、４０００円のお弁当から。懐石は６０００円から２０００円きざみであるよう。下から２番目の８０００円の懐石コースをお願いしておいた。子どもは２５００円と４０００円があって、２５００円の方をお願いしておいた。電話は丁寧な対応だった。

料理の説明は敢えてしていないとのこと。料理の食材は何かなぁと思いを馳せながら、食べてもらうという大将の趣向とのこと。（訊けば教えてくれる。）料理はどれも繊細で、優しいお味。お椀を開ける度に出汁の香りが辺りを包み込む。京都らしい。また、見た目も美しい。特に菊を模した蕪のあんかけ。何と美しいことか。高い料理技術を感じる。食材も品質良い。鰤の焼き物など、数々魚を食べてきたが、その中でも上位に入るもの。最後はお弟子さんが見えなくなるまでお見送り。珍しい食材はなかったが、京都を味わいたいならオススメだ。一つ言うなら、大将は威風堂々。トイレの時にすれ違ったが、ちょっと怖かった。息子のお弁当の写真も参考に。
