New Year's visit to Shimogamo Shrine Headed to Kitayama for lunch After waiting for an hour, I went to Volks This Volks is a restaurant that I used to go to with friends 40 years ago when I was a student, getting paid from a part-time job, and sometimes for luxury and all-you-can-eat salads. It was still there. Wow, it was full and very busy. We had the New Year's menu lunch Hamburg and sautéed beef. Salad bar, soup bar, and the all-you-can-eat Hamburg with freshly baked bread was delicious as you would expect from Steak restaurant. The sautéed beef was also delicious. It was fried with onions and delicious.The soups were tomato soup, Chinese soup with shiitake mushrooms and egg, and potage.All of them were delicious and didn't taste like extra soup.I ate a lot of salad.The rice that came with it was glossy and had clear grains. It was cooked fresh and was delicious even when it got cold.It was my first visit in a long time and the deliciousness was a great way to celebrate the New Year.
