I went to Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) on a weekday night, about a 5 minute walk from Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station. There are 7 seats at the counter and 3 tables in the tatami room, and I arrived right after the store opened at 5pm, so I was the first to go. The menu consisted mainly of fish dishes such as sashimi, Grilled skewer fish, and boiled fish, as well as skewers, Tempura-fried Fried food such as fries and tempura, a la carte dishes such as pork and doteni, and standard snacks. I wanted to try Doteni because it seemed to be recommended, but unfortunately they were out of stock that day. So I ordered sardine Grilled skewer, assorted skewers, and shrimp Tempura. The sardine vinegar has a thick flesh and no odor, and the amount of vinegar is just right. Grilled skewer came in pairs, so I ordered the platter, and the chicken skin was crispy and juicy, and the meatballs were not fluffy, but had a firm texture, but they were full of flavor. And while the shrimp Tempura wasn't as battered as you'd find at an authentic Tempura restaurant, it contained three large, plump shrimp and vegetables such as eggplant and carrots, so it wasn't bad. It was a comfortable restaurant with a homely atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.
