三重県三重郡菰野町菰野にある蕎麦店。
７月１０日にオープンした「アクアイグニス素粋居」の中にある。
アクアイグニス素粋居はアクアイグニスの少し湯の山寄りに作られた１２棟のコテージからなる宿泊施設。そこに、飲食店も３店舗が新たにオープン。その中の１店がこちらだ。
蕎麦業界では知られる「翁達磨」の系列「なにわ翁」で修行をした料理人というのがウリのお店。「なにわ翁」は訪れた事がないが、山梨県の「長坂翁」は２０年以上前に訪れた事があるので興味津々。
お昼時の訪問。メニューを見ると天ぷらなど揚げ物は一切ない、かなり硬派なお店のようだ。「ざるそば２種」１６００円を注文。二八そばと十割そばの２種類が味わえる。最初に二八そばが運ばれてくる。非常に品の良いそばだ。そばつゆは関東流で辛め。十割そばも品がよろしいが、個人的にはもっとがつんとくる田舎蕎麦が好きなので、十割はちょっと肩すかし。そば湯はさらっとしていた。サービスは開店直後だけあって、まだまだ不慣れな面が見られた。
総じて、蕎麦通が好きそうな蕎麦で、ターゲットは地元客ではなく、遠方からのリゾート客だ、というのがよくわかる。地元ウケはしそうにないが、アクアイグニスの客層、名古屋以遠など遠方からの富裕層をターゲットにしているのならこれで正解だろう。間違いなく、富裕層の蕎麦通にはウケそうだ。ただ、お昼のみの営業で宿泊者がターゲット、という訳ではなさそうだ。
