I had my eye on this restaurant because it won a Michelin plate in 2019. Looking at the website, it seemed pretty good. It was quite far away, but I decided to go. It's located in the very countryside of Shima. The restaurant is right in front of the sea. It's a very modern restaurant that doesn't blend in with the rural scenery (^▽^;) When you enter the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the piano... It felt like it towered right in the middle (^^;) A mini concert venue? And the floor was tatami. There were no tables in the space, only counter seats. We were shown to a private room. The interior of the restaurant is brand new. It is very modern, and the location is quite good as well. The staff are a young woman and the owner. The service is so polite and friendly that you wouldn't think it was in the countryside. The lunch course is a one-plate meal for 2500 yen. It is a set of hot pot, several small dishes, and rice. The rice on this day was red rice? You can have seconds. The 12 small dishes included sashimi of sea bass, grunt, and striped jack, as well as condiments. Turnip and okra salad, yuba, rolled dashi and what kind of molokheiya?, beef. Chawanmushi, sweetfish, potato or pumpkin tempura, and brulee. Only three types of sashimi were explained. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. Next, the beef. It was a little sweet, but it was quite delicious. As for the other dishes. For the price of 2,500 yen, it was not bad, but it was a shame that the fish and chawanmushi were cold. A small pot of duck and winter melon. Red rice. Is it normal? It was like this for lunch, but it may be completely different at night. It seems to be a night restaurant. There is also accommodation. Only one group per day is accepted. In other words, it is a private rental... It is 20,000 yen (including a service charge) per night for accommodation only. If you include meals, it is 27,000 yen (tax and including a service charge). This time, Bon Papa was a special lunch that is limited to 10 meals per day, so I was not really sure what to expect. The food is elaborate and the restaurant has been awarded a Michelin plate. It can't be just like that! I'd like to come here at night if I stay overnight... I have no basis for this, but the restaurant has an atmosphere that makes me expect more.
