宮城県の海鮮を食べたいというリクエストで知人に寿司屋に連れていってもらった。国分町にある老舗だ。
とりあえずビールをいただく。お通しのホタルイカがおいしい。てきとうに旬のものでおつまみをと女将さんらしき方にお願いしてみたのだが、そういうシステムではないらしく一品ずつ注文してくれとのことだった。とりあえずお刺身を2人前お願いする。
メニューを見ると「プリプリ玉子焼き」というものが名物らしいので注文してみる。すぐに出てきたので焼いて冷やしてあるのだろう。表面は玉子焼きなのだが、中はプリンのような食感で少し甘い。独特な玉子焼きだ。
仙台といえばなんだろうということで聞いてみるとやはりホヤらしい。ということでいただく。あまり得意ではなかったのだが、確かに新鮮なホヤはおいしかった。ポン酢でいただくとさっぱりと食べられる。すっと歯が通るホヤの食感に少し違和感があったが、これまで食べたホヤの中では一番おいしかった。
お酒を追加。まずは「日高見」からいただく。せっかくなので宮城の地酒をいただきましょう。
刺身の盛り合わせがやってきた。どのあたりが地のものなのかはわからなかったが、概ね鮮度の高い刺身だった。
全然食べ足りなかったのでメニューにおすすめとあったものをどんどん注文してみる。まずは「馬刺」。赤身に脂が筋のようにのっている。肉々しい味を楽しめた。
さらに「鮪ねぎま串」と「海老鬼殻焼」。タルタルソースで食べる鮪はいいおつまみになった。お酒は有名どころで「伯楽星」を2合程度いただく。
最後に寿司を盛り合わせでだしてもらった。中とろが2巻ものっている。シャリは水分多めで粘りがあるタイプ。お腹も膨れて満足である。
海鮮系はある程度食べられたのでよかった。さて次の店はどうしようか。
