*First visit in May 2017* I visited here during a business trip to Sendai. This time, I couldn't get a hotel at all, so I stayed at a hotel next to the golf course in Nakayama, not near Sendai Station. I took a taxi to Izumi Chuo for dinner. By the way, it's been about 20 years since I last came to Izumi Chuo. There are more and more shops, and I was wandering around the area with bars, thinking, "It's changed a lot...". I was wondering where to go, when the young lady of this restaurant called out to me and I was drawn in lol I sat at the table at the very front. From the menu, I thought it would have a more Japanese feel, but the lighting inside the restaurant was a little darker and modern. I heard that there was an all-you-can-drink option, so I ordered that and started with a draft beer (^o^) The young lady recommended "Salted bonito tataki" for 1,050 yen. Other items on the "recommended menu" included "Charcoal grilled bamboo shoots" for 500 yen, "Grilled clams" for 4 pieces for 700 yen, and "Grilled beef tongue" for 1,200 yen. "Tsukune Yaki" 450 yen. We also ordered Grilled skewer platter and rolled omelet. The appetizers are also elaborate. First, a toast with draft beer♪ And then the rolled omelet. Yes. This is normal. It was very smooth. Then came the bonito (^o^) It was salt-pounded, so it wasn't topped with anything like ponzu sauce. The flesh had a beautiful color, and the surface was well seared. We ate it with raw garlic and coarse salt. Mmm. Delicious (*^_^*) The bonito didn't have a fishy smell at all. It was quite thick, but had no strong flavor. This way of eating it was good. But I guess it's hard to do unless the bonito is fresh. I couldn't stop drinking beer at this point lol Next was bamboo shoots. They were well-grilled, but the flesh was soft because they were young. You could taste the natural bitterness just right, and it was delicious. The clams were small, but very fragrant and soft, which was nice (^o^) If the seafood was this good, I would have liked to try the sashimi platter, but I wasn't that hungry, so I didn't order it that day. The beef tongue was also lean and delicious. The skewer platter. The grilled meatballs. I also enjoyed the other dishes. I ended up staying for a while. It was a casual visit, but it was a hit♪ The service was great, and the food and drinks came quickly, so I didn't feel stressed at all. If I was in the area, I'd be happy to come here again. I'd like to come again someday. Thanks to the lady who sucked me in (*^_^*) Thank you for the meal♪
