仕事途中に寿司を摘まむべく立ち寄り。わりと目立つ外観と、結婚式場も併設で当地では名の通ったお店ということもあって、何となく来ることもなく、かなり久しぶりの訪問。
店内は上品な雰囲気で、以前は蛍光灯照明の町のお寿司屋さんといった感じだった記憶があるのだが、定かではない(もう15年以上前なので…)。
席に通していただき、豊富なメニューのなかから"上にぎり"を注文。特上以外は写真がないのである意味楽しみ。出てきたお寿司はウニ、いくら、生貝など、上らしいラインナップ。ただし、少々少なめ。キタムラサキウニ的な白のウニは若干のミョウバン臭あり、またエビがアルチン赤エビというのも若干期待とは違ったものの、まあ仕方なし。
メニューが豊富なだけにセットメニューなどをチョイスすればリーズナブルであり、寿司にこだわってしまったワタクシのチョイスがちょっと失敗だったかもしれない。そういう意味では、お寿司屋さんというよりは和食処といった感覚で利用するのがよいのかもしれない。接客の暖かさは石巻らしい雰囲気でありました。
