The exterior makes you think for a moment that it's a storehouse. restaurant is built in an earthen storehouse style, which is becoming rarer in the city, and is a 120-year-old merchant's house that was made into a mansion. When you step inside the store, where you are greeted by an old-fashioned hollowed door, you will see a hearth and a large pot door to your left. There is a ``Kyokusui Garden'' on the premises, which you can admire while having a meal. The interior is still as it was in the old days, with a large Shinto altar and other features that give you a feeling of nostalgia, even though it's your first time here.
Food Hikariya Higashi's rice is pesticide-free "Aigamo rice" that we made.
We grow rice in the Yamabe district overlooking Matsumoto City. The rice is prepared for Hikariya Higashi's meals.
