Although I have lived in Suwa for over ten years and have often heard about this restaurant, I have deliberately avoided eel restaurants such as Furuhata and Kobayashi in this area, believing that they are the only ones in the area. However, I finally made my first visit to the store, which I had been interested in for many years. Although it had not been long since the store opened, the restaurant was already filled with seats. Kotekote's name, Kankosou, does not suit its name, but the young hall staff guide you to your table in a sophisticated manner similar to that of hotel staff. Regardless of whether it's a good fit or not, the customer service is very pleasant. Decide on your order while looking at the menu, and place your order using the touch panel. Although I was confused by the system, which had a different image from the tasteful setting of a Japanese house, I ordered eel jus and hitsumabushi. Since it was eel, I was prepared for it to take a long time, but the rice bowl was surprisingly quick and arrived in about 10 minutes. And finally, it's time to eat. The sweet sauce was impressive, but what surprised me most was the way the eel was grilled and the texture. The crispy surface grilled eel is often seen in western Japan's eel, but it has a texture that I have never experienced even at eel restaurants in the west. It has a unique aroma and sweetness, and is a little different from the eel you usually eat, but it's quite delicious on its own. Based on the image of the restaurant's name, I thought it would be an eel restaurant with a strong Meeha feel, but I think I can understand why people say it's a ``delicious eel restaurant.'' I once again realized that it is not good to hate eating or not going to eat.
