Today I was on a business trip to Niigata and stayed for one night, so I wanted to eat at a Niigata-style restaurant after work, so my colleague brought me to this restaurant. It's close to the restaurant we went to for lunch, but it's a little hard to find because it's on an aerial floor, and even though it's in front of the station, there are a lot of bad guys nearby, so you need to be careful. The atmosphere is more like an upscale restaurant than Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), and although you can enjoy your meal at the counter, there is also a completely private room that can be used as a VIP room, which seems to be popular. There was one room available, so I showed it to them. Should I have made a reservation and ordered the course? This is the store I think. Since I'm in Niigata, I wanted to eat local sake and Murakami beef, and although there are many other Niigata dishes, I especially enjoyed local sake, including seasonal alcoholic drinks. There was a big event called Niigata Sake no Jin this weekend, and I was asked to recommend a local sake that would not be served at the event. What I thought was particularly unusual was Sakurairo, a pure rice nigori sake that I thought would be recommended for women as it was easy to drink and had a nice color. Personally, I like alcohol with a little more flavor, so I think this is a good way to enjoy it a little. I ordered the Murakami beef Teppan-yaki, and it had just the right amount of fat and a strong flavor. I enjoyed it because I was able to eat what I wanted to eat. The Otoshi is so interesting that I choose it first, and I found it interesting that it was served with a cassette stove and that you could eat steamed food from the Otoshi. It's great to see a restaurant that is particular about making the first dish an appetizer. When I was leaving, I saw a map of Niigata next to the cash register, and a sake lid was attached to it as a magnet. The shop apparently processes empty sake bottle caps into magnets and distributes them to customers. I was surprised by the interesting service. If you can take home the lid of a Niigata local sake that you enjoyed as a souvenir, you can collect it like a wine label. Next time I come on a business trip, I would like to reserve a VIP room if it is available. Thank you.
