I stayed in Nagaoka for a few days, but I finally managed to get a reservation for the last night. It's a nice restaurant that's no wonder why it's so popular, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable at 3,000 to 4,000 yen per person. The best part was that all seats were non-smoking! Are there many restaurants in Nagaoka that allow smoking in all seats? I went to several other places, and all seats allowed smoking. We went as a group of two, and were given a private room on the second floor, which was spacious and comfortable. I was told that the copper pot rice would take 40 minutes, so I ordered it first. I tried salmon roe, sea bream, octopus, and finally decided on octopus. Salmon roe seems to be the most popular. The rice in the copper pot was sticky, and the octopus was a bit disappointing. However, the dishes other than the copper pot rice were very delicious and the quantity was sufficient. This time it's bean sprout salad, green onion, gizzard, meatballs, and copper pot rice. There were many other items on the menu that I was interested in, so I would definitely like to go there again the next time I am on a business trip to Nagaoka.
