宿の近くの寿司屋にふらりと入ってみました。瀬戸内の地物だけで握って欲しいと伝えると、快く承諾してくださいました。(口コミ写真にある瀬戸内海産にぎりのセットは無くなった様子)
ママカリ、カンパチ、真鯛、紋甲イカ、そしてアジを2カンずつ。ちょうど瀬戸内のネタが少ない時期だそうで、大将は瀬戸内海が綺麗になり過ぎて魚が捕れなくなったことを嘆いていました。
シャリは甘めで、醤油も甘め。赤酢は使わない。本当の地元の寿司はこういうものだそうです。
私「おお、ママカリ！これ、岡山の人たち大好きなんですよね？」
大将「いや、それほどでも。酢漬けにしちゃうと子供たち食べないし」
私「ですよねー」
…というたわいの無い話をしながら寿司を摘むのも旅の楽しみの一つです。
