東梅田駅から新御堂筋に向かった先にあります、亀すし総本店です。
大阪駅からホワイティうめだという地下街を迷いに迷って辿りつけます。大阪にはちょくちょく行きますけど、梅田周辺はまだまだすんなり行かず、地下を行けばぐるぐる迷子になり、地上を行けば横断歩道ないんかい！という感じで行手を阻まれます。
というのはさておき、ホワイティうめだの泉の広場というところから地上に出ればお店は直ぐです。縄寿司、亀すし総本店という並びであり、亀すし総本店の真ん前に亀すし本店というのがあります。ただこの本店は現在稼働していないのか閉店状態。行列が延びたら総本店の前から道路を挟んだ本店の前に並ぶシステムです。
インバウンドが色濃く反映した並びを待って20分くらいで入店。カウンターのみで職人さんが目の前で握ってくれます。お寿司は全て2貫ずつで、格安感はありませんけど、いわゆる大衆的なお寿司の値段とラインナップ。
白身うす造りまぐろいか芽ねぎ貝柱かんぱち炙りとろ穴子
2人で行きましたので食べたいものだけを思うがままに。やはり全て2貫ずつですので2人組みで来るお客さんが多く、それが理にかなっています。頼めば一貫ずつでも出してはくれそうです。
大阪のお寿司の特徴と言っていいのか、とにかくネタがでかいです。オーソドックスでシンプルなネタばかりですが、寿司本来の美味しさを楽しむスタイル。マグロや穴子は大きさに比例してダイナミックな美味しさがあり、少し火入れした貝柱や炙りとろ、大阪らしい芽ねぎも美味しかったです。
インバウンドのお客さんがいっぱいの店内ですが、ちゃんと外国語での対応、メニューもあるので外国人観光客に人気があるのもわかります。そしてしっかり外国語でも笑いを取ろうとしている大阪人の職人魂も見事なもんでした。外国人クスッと笑っとったがな。
