研修と食べ歩きに徹した関西出張の最終日。宿の朝食を食べた後なので、これが良いだろうと選んでおいたのが、美々卯(みみう) の 「うどんすき」。美々卯の看板商品で、うどんすきはここの登録商標になっている。本店は改装中とのことで、本町店に伺う。
平日ながら、店内はなかなかの賑わい。我々は定番のうどんすきのコースをいただく(4070円 当時) 。宗太鰹節、枯本節でとった出汁は、関西風らしくやや薄味だが、やさしい旨味を漂わせる。具材も多彩で、鶏肉、アナゴ、椎茸、人参、芋、白菜、生麩などなど。
うどんは少し煮込むので、やや太め。お鍋に投入するこのお店のスペシャリテは「活車海老」、高級感を演出する。 1尾はご臨終だったが、車海老ではよくあること、仕入れをしているぼくにはよく分かるし、味に問題は無い。グルメツアー最終日のランチとしては、上出来だったかな。
