Hakataro, whose main branch is in Fukuoka and serves Local Cuisine, has a branch in front of the gates of Hozenji Temple in Minami. One of the specialty dishes here is Fukuoka's "chicken Hot Pot." Since the coronavirus pandemic, business trips to Fukuoka have drastically decreased. Since I haven't had many opportunities to go to the restaurant, I wanted to eat there for the first time in a while, so I decided to visit for lunch on a holiday.About the restaurant: There are many restaurants within the grounds of Hozenji Temple. It's just off the street on the north side of Hozenji Yokocho to the west. The shop is located in a 4-story building with the atmosphere of a Japanese-style meal restaurant. The 1st floor has L-shaped counter seats surrounding the cooking area, and the 2nd to 4th floors have table seats and tatami rooms. This time there were 2 people. I made a reservation on the phone just before I visited, and was shown to a counter seat on the 1st floor. ●About the food I ate First, I had a draft beer. Pfft... draft beer in the middle of the day on a holiday is delicious! Now. After drinking some draft beer and calming down, let's take a look at the food menu! ! At lunchtime, there is a great value lunch menu, but there are also plenty of Local Cuisine dishes from all over Kyushu. Wow... there are so many things I'm interested in. I guess I'll go for this one anyway. ( ̄ー ̄) Niyari However, if you order a variety of a la carte dishes, there is a high possibility that you won't be able to eat chicken Hot Pot, so this time I ordered ``Chicken Hot Pot'' and ``Swimming Squid Ikezukuri''. I decided to take a look at the situation (lol) [Swimming Squid Squid] The squid on this day was apparently a porpoise squid from Fukui. It's not Yobuko (lol) It's quite a size and has thick flesh. Since it's a living thing, the flesh is transparent. The surface is crispy. When you bite into it, it's plump. When you eat it with vinegar and salt, it's very sweet. Yes, it's delicious. The Japanese sake tastes Tempura on this. [Squid squid leg Tempura] The lower legs of the live squid are made into tempura. The outer coating is crispy, and the lower legs are soft. Plump Well, it's definitely delicious [Hakata Hot Pot] The staff takes care of adding the chicken Hot Pot ingredients you wanted to eat that day.As is typical of Fukuoka, the soup is served first. The cloudy soup looks thick, but when you drink it, you'll be surprised. Light taste Next, only bone-in chicken is put in the bowl. The chicken is juicy and chewy and delicious. After this, you can eat as you like. The chicken is delicious just as it is, but the ``salt ponzu sauce'' has a citrus flavor. The aroma and sourness of the noodles were very round, and the saltiness was just right. It was really delicious. The final dish was topped with Ramen noodles were extremely thin and had a smooth texture, making them feel somewhat similar to somen (lol) Both the squid ikezukuri and the Hakata Hot Pot were quite delicious. When that happens, the alcohol goes down smoothly ( ̄ー ̄). I drank a lot on this day as well. [Alcohol consumed] ・Draft beer ・Rokugo Tanaka 1 cup of pure rice ・1 cup of Mitsui Kotobuki Junmai Ginjo Daikarakuchi ・1 cup of Amabuki special junmai ・1 cup of Takariya special junmai And eat and drink well. The bill for this day is 1.6 Yukichi for two people. The price doesn't seem like lunch at all, but it's not surprising since the way you eat and drink it isn't lunch (lol) I wanted to eat Hot Pot this time, so the only a la carte dish I had was "Ikezukuri", but there are other Kyushu Local Cuisine as well. I'm curious. I'd like to try that next time I'm here. Thank you for the meal.
