R5.9.13(Wed) 17:25 Visit I arrived the day before a business trip to Saga. I wanted to have a drink at a local restaurant, so I visited Kyubou-san, which looked like a good restaurant after I researched it beforehand. I sat down at the counter and immediately toasted with beer. There was a wide variety of food and drink, but we were told that the recommended set meal was the best, and that it could be ordered without rice, so that is what we ordered. The recommended set meal includes the recommended dish, sashimi, steamed egg custard, and rice, and is priced at 1980 yen. They added more sashimi for the amount of rice that was skipped. The sashimi lineup includes salmon, whale, striped horse mackerel, and heiramasa, all of which are delightfully meaty. And of course, it tastes fresh, and the sweet soy sauce goes perfectly with the whale. You will suddenly get excited. The fish is purchased at the market by the owner. The sake was Tenzan and Shichida. Tenzan is a refreshing and tasty sake, while Shichida has a sweeter taste, but both have a similar flavor. In addition, the owner gave us some nigori sake treat which is delicious with strong acidity and a powerful flavor. Thank you very much. For the set menu, we chose red fish and had it simmered. The meat was plump and full of flavor. The daikon radish is also well seasoned, and the sake goes well with it. In addition, we were served snacks made from fish entrails like salted fish guts, and after drinking with gusto, we ordered chanpon to finish off the meal. The soup is a light, cloudy pork bone broth, which is combined with the flavor of the vegetables and other ingredients to give it a perfect flavor. There is also a savory aroma from the stir-fried vegetables, and the soup is surprisingly quite high level. The noodles are the Champon noodles. The noodles are medium thick and firm, and do not soften over time, allowing you to enjoy them slowly. The ingredients are of many kinds, including bean sprouts, cabbage, onions, fish cakes, pork, kikurage mushrooms, green peppers, and carrots, and the quantity of ingredients is large (a characteristic of Saga's chanpon, apparently). It is best to eat this plentiful amount of ingredients intertwined with the noodles. At the end of the meal, we had a drink with the owner and promised to revisit whenever we come to Saga, and then headed home. Since we drank shochu, we got drunk and went back to the hotel and had a good night's sleep. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
