Today's dinner is at Ise Nishiki in Omiya. A kaiseki restaurant located on the outskirts of Omiya Station, near the approach to Hikawa Shrine. Apparently, it was founded in 1894. It's been 120 years. The front of the gate is also painted black, making it difficult to enter. When you pull the elegant lattice door aside, another world appears. When you take off your shoes and go up to the second floor, you will find a large hall that can accommodate around 20 people. Today is the first party in a while. First, the appetizer. It's "yuba". The scent of wasabi reverberates in your nostrils along with the torami. Next is ``Chawanmushi'' with chicken, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, and mitsuba leaves. There is no noteworthy taste. And then there's ``sashimi.'' Tuna and sea bream. The tuna wasn't that great, but the sea bream was crunchy and delicious. In addition, there are `` Simmered dish'' such as cold eggplant boiled in Dutch, millet wheat gluten, and chili peppers. What is Dutch stew? When I looked into it, I found that ``Dutch-ni is a dish in which ingredients are fried or stir-fried in oil and then boiled with seasonings such as soy sauce, mirin, and dashi stock.Depending on the recipe, chili peppers may also be added to the dish. Many of them are characterized by their sweet and salty flavor. It seems to be a dish passed down from the Dutch who settled in Dejima, Nagasaki. Indeed, I was able to eat the fried eggplant to the core. Next up is the ``grilled'' scallops grilled with butter and soy sauce, green flavored, and grilled with eggs. The scallops are also small and one bite is all you need. Furthermore, there is ``deep-fried'' tempura. Shrimp, Nanjing, eggplant, lion tang, lemon, salt. For some reason, writing the menu in kanji confuses me. It looks like it's high class, but it's just deep-fried ingredients. Last but not least is the meal. Made in Tome, Miyagi Prefecture, grown with reduced pesticides, Hitomebore chirimen pepper rice, pickled vegetables, and red soup stock. Unfortunately, the way it was cooked was a bit mushy, but it was the most delicious of today's courses. The "sweet" flavors are mille Crepes and shine muscat. This is my first Shine Muscat this year. The whole skin is seedless and delicious. After all, I guess this store has survived for many years under the blessings of Hikawa Shrine. Considering the quality of this course meal, which cost 10,000 yen (including all-you-can-drink), I didn't feel the restaurant's hospitality at all. As I looked at the photos, I was shocked to see that the course ended without a main course. I was especially surprised at how cold the tempura was. Even if you eat kaiseki cuisine over a long period of time, I wish there was at least one dish that had a good aftertaste and left an impression on you...
