かつて東京は浅草橋で個性派カツカレーの名店として人気を博したカレーピークが、場所を埼玉は大宮に、業態をカレー専門店から居酒屋に、名前も「居酒屋ｐｅａｋあさの」に変えて生まれ変わりました！
大宮駅から徒歩10分少々の住宅街に佇む居酒屋。
店内入ると作務衣姿のご主人と和服に割烹着の女将さん。
素敵です。
ランチタイムはカレーと定食。
夜はおつまみと、カレーもちゃんといただけるというのが嬉しいですね。
ランチのロースカツカレーをいただきました。
ランチだと小鉢や味噌汁がつき、ディナータイムは単品となるそうです。
野菜とスパイスで作ったマイルドなカレー。
低温調理でしっとりと仕上げた分厚いカツ。
美味しいなぁ。
定食にはソースもついてきたのですが、このソースをカツにかけ、カレーと合わせて食べると、カレー自体の美味しさも一段階上がるんですよ。
もちろんそのままカレーだけ食べても美味しいですし、カツにソースかけてカツとご飯で楽しむも良しなのですが、個人的にはこのカツにソースをかけ、カレーと一緒に食べるのが一番好きです。
そういうところまで計算もされている素晴らしさ。
小鉢も出汁巻き玉子が特に良かった。
引き算の塩気。淡いながらも確かな旨味。絶妙です。
居酒屋のカレーとしてレベルが高いということではなく、カレー専門店として人気だったお店のカレーが居酒屋で楽しめるという贅沢。
近くにあったら通いたいお店です。
