Shizuhachi This is Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) that opened about 2 minutes across Nakasendo from the east exit of Yono Station. It is said that the restaurant will open at night from April 9th, but until then, they will be serving Japanese-style set meals for lunch. Visited in the early afternoon, the restaurant is compact with 4 seats at the counter and 2 tables. It's beautiful with a chic and calm interior. There is a large TV. The shop owner is in his prime of work. You can feel safe with our courteous service. The menu includes set meals starting at 700 yen, including grilled fish, fried chicken, and sashimi. The three-piece tuna set meal was a special price of 1,500 yen. You can choose raw egg or mentaiko with the service. I ordered the fried oyster set meal for 800 yen. Five crispy fried Oyster. Served with homemade mayo, sauce, and tartare. Meals are self-serve. The rice bowl is a deep and large bowl, and when I looked around it myself, I realized that the bowl of rice at a set restaurant was quite large. Oyster are delicious with their crispy coating and juicy flesh. The three sauces that come with it each have their own unique flavors, the mayonnaise is light, the sauce has a punch, and the tartar is refreshing. The soup was delicious and it was a very satisfying set meal.
