Yakitori Yokocho Kitaurawa East Exit, a 2-minute walk from the east exit of JR Kitaurawa Station, Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) that boasts Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) grilled over binchotan charcoal. Fresh domestic chicken is delivered every morning and carefully skewered one by one. There are about 15 types of meatballs alone, so if you can't decide, we recommend the "5-piece Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) platter" which is a great deal that includes all the delicious parts. The most popular skewer is the "chicken neck with plenty of green onions and salt" topped with lots of green onions. Of course, when you think of Urawa, you think of the Urawa Reds. There is also a red-themed "grilled avocado with wasabi mayonnaise 480 yen." Eat Reds food and support the Reds. Head left from the east exit of the station and walk between the information center and Ginza Cozy Corner to the "Heiwa-dori Shopping Street." There are shops lined up on both sides of the narrow road where cars can barely pass each other, making it a lively place. It has the atmosphere of an old-fashioned shopping street, so it seems like a good place to take a stroll. As soon as you enter Heiwa-dori, you will find this restaurant on your right. It is run by Home Dining Co., Ltd., which also owns Rakusho Omiya Station West Exit Main Branch, Rakusho Kita-Urawa Station West Exit Branch, Rakusho Kasukabe Station East Exit Branch, and Yakitori Yokocho Kita-Urawa Station East Exit Branch. When I visited around 8 p.m. on a weekday, the exterior was lit by Ichiban Shibori lanterns and looked worn. The sign that read "Yakitori Yokocho" was rusted in places, but it was probably just for show, not actual rust. When you enter the restaurant, there are reed mats on the windows to hide the view and create a nice atmosphere. The stacked ashtrays in front of you and the sooty smell of cigarettes and charcoal make you feel like you're in the Showa era. *The usual lemon sour 418 yen. So sour! *Table charge 330 yen. Fried tofu was served as an appetizer. *Assorted Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) platter 748 yen Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) served in about 10 minutes. Today was a bargain day, with 6 skewers instead of 5. Chicken skin: No bad smell, good quality, but not cooked properly. Tsukune: Mixed with cartilage to improve texture, but the sauce is strong. Negima: This is absolutely delicious. Chicken fillet: Refreshing with plum and seaweed. Kokoro: Interesting, with a strong pepper flavor. Neck meat with plenty of green onion and salt: The most popular chicken fillet topped with white scallions tossed in sesame oil. It's a hearty dish, so it's no wonder it's so popular. I could hear a child's voice coming from a table in the back. He couldn't speak a single word, so he must be about one and a half years old. Looking over there, I saw two young men sitting on the aisle side, leaning back and smoking cigarettes, perhaps to keep the child from getting smoked. This place is also Showa-era. When I paid the bill, they gave me a lactobacillus drink that looked like Yakult. Behind him, a young woman walked out carrying a child in a baby carrier.
