Watching soccer at Saitama Stadium (not a Urawa Reds fan). I came here to soak in the afterglow since it was my favorite team's first win in six months. I haven't been to a chain Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) recently, but I personally think Namero at Shoya is pretty cool. A horse mackerel is caught from the fish tank in front of me and immediately taken down and beaten. Even though I feel guilty about it, it has a good live feel. It's a bit heavy on miso and has a strong seasoning, so I'll switch from beer to sake. Overall, if you think about it, it's not particularly cheap, and the food is like that of a chain restaurant, so unless you're an Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) refugee like this one, you probably won't go in. But every time I pass by Shoya, I want to eat namero. Come to think of it, the last time I ate Shoya's Namero was on the way home from a soccer game. That was on the way back from Ajinomoto Stadium. Do shops tend to exist near soccer stadiums? Even though several years have passed, Shoya's namero was still at a level that should not be overlooked.
