Roast chicken cooked on a custom-made grill! A variety of spices sourced locally from overseas markets.
Our restaurant just opened on April 15th this year. One of our selling points is roast chicken! To grill this roast chicken, we manufactured a custom grill overseas, the only one of its kind in the wo |
It was a Saturday morning when I woke up to the pain of my chronic back strain, with the symptoms appearing. I spent the morning toddling around and protecting my back, but when lunchtime came and I looked up to the sky, I was greeted by a beautiful blue sky, a blessing during the rainy season. I really didn't want to waste a day like this, so I put on a back pain belt and decided to go for a food walk. However, with my back in this condition I didn't think I could go far, so I headed towards National Route 17. As usual, I took the Mutsuji Waterfront Park route, but on the way I took a peek at Restaurants Meek, which is located on the side of the promenade, and noticed that it looked a little different than before. I went closer and looked at the sign... Oh, it seems that they have actually resumed business as of today. I'm really glad that they haven't gone from being closed due to coronavirus to going out of business, and I'm very happy about that. If that's the case, I'll change my plans and have lunch here today. When I went inside, I found the interior to be spacious and clean. Judging from her broken Japanese and her appearance, the restaurant seems to be run by a single woman who appears to be of Southeast Asian descent. I order the "Chicken Rice Set (918 yen)". When I say chicken rice, I don't mean the kind that's stir-fried with ketchup, but the kind that's Singaporean chicken rice, also known as "Hainan Chicken Rice" in Chinese or "Khao Man Gai" in Thai Cuisine. The woman at the restaurant had warned me in advance, "It will take a little while, is that okay?", but it was clear at a glance that she was fighting on her own, and since it was a holiday, I decided to relax and wait. After a while, the first thing that arrived was a salad. You can choose your dressing to your liking, and I chose Caesar. To be honest, I was lured in by the woman's broken Japanese and ended up saying "Shisa" (lol). After a little while, the complete "Chicken Rice Set" arrived. I see, this "chicken rice" isn't served in a single dish, but on a separate plate, so there is plenty of steamed chicken. However... Oh no... The steamed chicken is topped with coriander, my nemesis. Well, I guess I'll just think of it as a medicinal herb and swallow it all in one gulp before starting to eat. When I tried it, it was quite authentic Singapore chicken rice and it was delicious. I've been to Singapore before, but I didn't eat chicken rice there, so I don't know what the real taste is, and I'm only comparing it to the Singapore chicken rice I've eaten in Japan so far. By the way, the soup that came with it also seemed to be chicken soup, so this was truly all chicken. After the meal, I took a break with an iced coffee and was indulged in my thoughts for a while. Hmm, this is another end to one of my concerns during the Stay Home period. (7 points out of 10) https://ameblo.jp/captainsolo/entry-12605725897.html
