Niiza City, Saitama Prefecture. A short walk from the south exit of Shiki Station on the Tobu Tojo Line. I had a curry lunch at Himalaya Restaurants, which is located at the top of the stairs going down to the basement on the right side of Yakitori Big (^。^) This restaurant seems to have opened this month, but it was originally Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) or something. However, the store itself seemed a little old. Apparently, the shop owner is from the foothills of the Himalayas, hence the name Himalaya. The staff of the shop is from Nepal? The restaurant is run by about 5 men, all of whom are men, but I think they can speak Japanese quite fluently (^。^) The seating arrangement is about 4 semi-private tables surrounding the kitchen. There are L-shaped counter seats. It's convenient for families to have semi-private table seats (^^) I was alone, but a young staff member guided me to a counter seat. It seems to be a curry lunch at noon and Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) at night. Selected items from the lunch menu (´⊙ω⊙`) All menus are reasonably priced at less than 1000 yen including tax. Two types of curry come with salad, drink, and rice or naan. Shi・ka・mo(∗ᵒ̶̶̷̀ω˂̶́∗)੭₎₎̊₊♡ You can get free refills of rice or naan, so it's in front of Shiki station, but the cost performance is good. I think it's pretty good. It's my first time to try the Himalaya set, and the store's name is on the menu. I was asked if I wanted rice or naan, but I was told that I could have cheese naan for an additional 200 yen, so I ordered cheese naan. For the drink, I had a mango lassi (๑ ́ᄇ`๑) and I could choose the level of spiciness (normal to spicy to extra spicy).I don't like spicy food so I chose normal. Even so, it's been a while since I've eaten curry at a restaurant, except for Matsuya and CoCo Ichi at my home. What's more, it's been so long since I've had curry with naan that I can't even remember (^ω^) The restaurant was around lunch time, so a few customers came here and there, and the restaurant was about 60% full. Although the store is new and open, everyone is trying their best to serve customers politely in Japanese, and it has a homely atmosphere that makes me feel comfortable. Well, the delivery was fairly quick. A colorful salad, two types of curry, and cheese naan on a separate plate. The curry is authentic and delicious, and the cheese naan is served freshly baked, but it's fluffy, chewy, and super delicious! ლ(´ ❥ `ლ) I don't usually eat curry out, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I thought it would be a very satisfying curry lunch for 900 yen (cheese naan + 200 yen). By the way, the customer next to me asked for a regular naan, but he said, ``It's super big!'' ( ゚д゚)” Next time I would like to try regular naan (^^) This is a curry restaurant that I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal
