滋賀県側から行くと、東近江市、永源寺ダム、佐目・萱尾・政所・黄和田の在所を抜け、杠葉尾というところに位置しています。(名神の八日市インターからは３０分くらいで行けます）
こちらの杠葉尾というところは、４㎞のトンネルができたので、地元の人は三重県の大安町の方が近いのでショッピングから病院まで県境を越えて行かれるそうです。真夏日でしたので、黄和田のキャンプ場等では相当な人出。巨石やら、透き通り冷たい渓流の水、新鮮な空気、絶景を楽しむことができます。
８月に職場のイベントでこちらを利用させていただきました。バーベキューも楽しめますし、イワナ釣りもすることができます。（竿を貸していただけます）釣った魚は購入し持ち帰ることも可能。
イワナと鮎の塩焼き。イワナの押し寿司・刺身これらを渓流のさわやかな風、水音、絶景を見ながら食べることができ大満足でした。
すぐ近くに、京の水という天然水が湧いているところがあるので汲んできて家で玉露を楽しみました。すっきりした味で気分も落ち着きます。
