If you want to eat delicious fish in Izumo, this is the place to go.
I've been passing by this restaurant a lot recently and it caught my eye. I heard that you can use the Shimane Premium Food and Drink Coupon, so I made a reservation for the 5,500 yen course and visited. I made a reservation at 6 p.m. and arrived almost on time. There was already one group of customers enjoying themselves. We were guided to a tatami room in the back, and a seat was prepared for us and my husband, but the room was spacious enough for four people. In this day and age, the room is well ventilated, the air purifier is running, and infection prevention measures are perfect. Shimanekko also has a sign of the O-Fuda and has been certified by Shimane Prefecture. The first appetizers were vinegared mozuku seaweed and nanbanzuke sweetfish. The amount of vinegared mozuku seaweed was just right, and the nanbanzuke was easy to eat because there were no bones. The vinegar was not too strong and it was delicious. Next was fried ara-kabu. It was cooked so that you could eat all the bones, but the meat was still soft. It was well seasoned and delicious. There were four sashimi dishes. The sweetfish was seasoned with salt and sudachi, and I ate it before I could take a picture (lol) It was very delicious. The other sashimi dishes are not comparable to those from supermarkets, but the taste made me think that sashimi could be so delicious. Next was the grilled blackthroat seaperch that I was looking forward to. I measured it with my smartphone and it was about 20cm in size. We shared one fish for two people, but it was enough and delicious. The nigiri Sushi also had great toppings. The portions were just right. The red miso soup and junsai at the end were great for finishing off the meal. The portions were just right for us in our 50s. The Sushi was good, but the fish dishes, including the sashimi, were even more delicious. I think it's worth visiting Izumo just for this restaurant. The location may be a little difficult to find, but it's close to the hotel in front of Izumo Station and within walking distance. If you want to eat delicious fish, this is a restaurant that you should definitely make a reservation and go to. For budget, we spent just over 12,000 yen for two people, including one draft beer and one soft drink.

I got some Sushi takeaway to use up my Izumo City gift certificate, which expired today. It was 1500 yen per person for a regular serving, but it was delicious and satisfying. This restaurant's fish dishes are excellent. I'll definitely go back next year.
