新静岡駅駿府町口から徒歩数分。赤提灯が目印の昭和末期～平成初期を思わせる銘酒居酒屋。
店はそんなに広くなく、入って右手にカウンターが5席程。奥に板の間に4卓。喫煙可能のようだが昨今、喫煙者も激減してるので、たまたまだとは思うが吸う人は居なかった。店内も煙草の臭いはほぼ無い。
厨房は二代目っぽい若い店主？と従業員？の男性の2人体制で切り盛りしてるので、バタバタしていて、古き良き昔の居酒屋っぽい内装とは違い、あまり雑談するような雰囲気ではなく、口を開く時はオススメの銘酒の説明のみ。ちょっと東京の都心の居酒屋で飲んでるようなドライな感じだ。
メニューには料理料理したものは無く、昔ながらのザ・居酒屋メニューで、たまに明太子の天婦羅など変化球が入っている。料理は普通にうまいのだが、突出したものは無い感じ。
ただ、静岡のどちらかと言えばマイナーな銘柄から焼酎迄、レパートリーは豊富で静岡の地酒の知識が無いと迷う程。お兄さんの早口の説明を真剣に聞いて、素直にオススメを注文し、噛み締めるように味わうのが良い店だ。
この日のイチオシは島田市の若竹の樽酒らしく、常連さんは皆さん飲まれてたので、私もお願いした。樽木の香りがほんのり鼻を抜けて非常に飲みやすかった。
他、私の好きな辛口の英君。初めて飲んだ志太泉。ここは料理よりも酒を味わうお店だと思う。しかし、調子こいて飲みすぎると予想外の高額になるので御注意を。
県外から訪れるなら小さい店ゆえ、念の為予約を入れた方が良い。食べログ等のネット予約、クーポン券も対応しているが、予約したからと言って、忙しいから特別に気を遣ってはくれないのを頭に入れておくと良い。中高年の酒飲みの方で出張等、1人飲みで、或いは数人で、あまり干渉されず地酒を楽しみたい人にはオススメ。
