The atmosphere seemed to be bustling with locals, so it took some courage to open the door through the noren. Haha. Although 80% of the place was full, we sat down without making a reservation. First, we ordered a 5-item oden platter and sake. There were famous sakes from all over the country, but here we ordered cold Sohoma, a local sake from Tochigi. The oden is made with Kanto dashi and soy sauce, and as a Kanto native, it's not too sweet and you can feel the soy sauce in the dashi, which is perfect! I enjoyed the sharp taste of the mustard paste as I ate my chopsticks. The Sohoma went in smoothly and was the perfect combination! In addition to the well-seasoned radish, egg, and ganmo, the octopus and whelk were also flavorful and firm, and the simmering was exquisite and everything was delicious. Next time I'd like to try the skewers.
