A 10-minute walk from JR Tokushima Station, Ponzu is a hidden Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) where you can enjoy local chicken, Kawachi duck, wine, and sake.
We have changed the name of our restaurant from "BISTO Ro JUU" to "Ponzu". We source local chicken and Kawachi duck from outside the prefecture and cut them into large pieces, so they are very filling |
Yakitori restaurant Ponsu is located a 12-15 minute walk from Tokushima Station. The restaurant is always full and advance phone reservations are required. 20222023 Yakitori restaurant was selected as one of the WEST 100 best Yakitori restaurants in 2023. The a la carte menu is extensive, but it seems to take a very long time from the time you order to the time it is served, sometimes 30 minutes or more after one item is served. It took more than an hour and a half for four skewers of yakitori to be served, so if you want to eat a full meal, it would be better to allow about three hours for the service. The salt is applied very sparingly, allowing you to enjoy the flavor of the chicken itself. ◾ Enoki Butter Ponzu The sweetness of butter, the aroma of leeks, and the flavor of enoki mushrooms come together in this enoki butter ponzu. ◾New corn Tempura Wrapped in a soft and crispy fritter-like batter, the sweetness of the vegetables is delightful. Tempura Jidori Chicken Momo ◾ Jidori Chicken Momo has an impressive texture with its crispy grilled skin and resilient thigh meat. The salt is still light, so it is served with condiments on the table. ◾ chicken dish Aromatic and hot cooked chicken dish. You can feel the high potential of Kumano Jidori chicken. ◾Tsukune: Tsukune that is cooked quite tender and tossed in sauce, with a delightful sweet and spicy sauce flavor. ----------------------------- It should be around 5,000 yen if you add the cost of appetizers and drinks, but the bill was over 7,000 yen and there was no receipt, so the pricing is unclear. It is a rare restaurant nowadays where you can smoke, so if you want to smoke and eat Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) while smoking, please visit.
