PR for restaurants |
Komatsushima is one of the top prefectures in Japan for hamaguri (conger eel) catches. When you think of Komatsushima, you think of hamaguri (conger eel). When you think of hamaguri (conger eel) cuisine, you think of tensui (a type of eel dish).
Please enjoy our proud conger eel dishes in a relaxed Japanese atmosphere, with a set menu for lunch and a course menu for dinner. We also accept various seasonal banquets and small-scale memorial cer |
Three of my fathers decided to have a drink together, and a local acquaintance made reservations at a restaurant. We took a cab to the restaurant because it was raining in the evening. We took off our shoes at the entrance. The restaurant has a counter and four tables with sunken kotatsu-style tables. There were two groups of customers at the counter enjoying a drink. They seem to be locals. The owner and the proprietress are in charge of cooking at the counter, and the proprietress is in charge of serving customers. We were shown to one of the tables. We ordered a kaiseki course (5,000 yen) when we made our reservation, so we ordered a draft beer (Ichiban Shibori) and toasted the meal. First, octopus, squid, and cucumber salad was served. The combination of octopus and squid is rare. It was light and delicious. Then came the sashimi. Leatherfish (with liver), squid, yellowtail, and tuna were served. All of them are fresh and fatty. At this point, we decided to switch from beer to sake. I asked for a local sake called "Waemon". It was cold, so I tried to have it heated, but I was told that it is served cold, so I had it cold. The richness of the sake matched the fat in the sashimi and was just right. Next was simmered sea bream and radish. The sea bream's flavor and fat soaked into the daikon and it was delicious. I couldn't resist ordering more heated sake. It is served in a 2-gou jug. After that, the following dishes were served. The following dishes were served afterwards, including ponzu (vinegared milt), Tempura assortment, chawan-mushi (steamed rice in a bowl), five nigiri (hand-rolled sushi), and somen (noodles). The next plate of food was served in good timing when we had finished eating. By the time I finished my somen, I was quite full. We had another bottle of heated sake and enjoyed our meal. We found ourselves drinking and talking for over three hours.
