7.7、七夕のお昼の話 日本料理の萬菊さんがランチをされていると聞き伺いました。新橋演舞場近く、佃屋さんなどがはいる坂口銀座ビルです。
前提知識はないので階段を上がる前に路面のメニューを確認。穴子天ぷら定食にぴんっ✨
2Fのお店に上がるとご近所思しきみなさんで盛況でした。大きな窓から入る真夏の太陽にビタミンDがぐんぐん生成されます。でもなぜか焼けません。メラニンなし犬。
お膳がどこどこ運ばれていきます。仕込み十分なんでしょう、全く待たせない素敵なオペレーション。そして私のところにも。
穴子のほか夏野菜の天ぷらがたくさんっ。トマト・ベビーコーン・茄子などなど。からし明太子など他の副菜もお味噌汁もあってきちんと感が溢れます。
充実したおかずを受け止めるご飯はもちろん日本昔ばなし盛り（普通でお願いしています。大盛りもできるそうです）。食べ手への愛があります。
カリッと揚がった穴子さんは最後の最後に大根おろし入りの天つゆにダイブ。
男性客のみの店内ですががっつり系ではなく日本料理のお店然とした空気感を保っているのは一つ一つお店の積み重ねなんだと思います。木挽町通り沿いのお店をまた一つ開拓できました。

“この夏の星を見る”にぐっときてる。コロナ初年度ただ中、東京・茨城・長崎の中高生がスターキャッチコンテストなる手作り望遠鏡で星を捉える天体観測競技会でつながる群像劇（まだ35%くらい）。
北極星が変遷することとか、星空を競技場にするなら学校の位置関係が問題にならないこととか、普遍的だと思いがちなものがそうでなかったり、絶望するほど遠いと思っているものも見方を変えればゼロと見做せることとか、そうした揺さぶりが楽しいです。
学生時代にこんな素敵な熱中がなかった私は物語の中のみなさんに健全な嫉妬をして、また一層頑張ろうと思うのでした。
