I went to have lunch at the Restaurants area on the basement floor of the Kokusai Building, which is directly connected to Hibiya Station on the Mita Line. There are many restaurant here, so it's fun to choose. However, all the shops are quite crowded during weekday lunch hours, so you often have to wait. On this day, I visited around 1pm to avoid the peak lunch time. It's true that the tables are empty, but many of the restaurants have already sold out of their popular lunch menus. While wandering around, thinking that the time shift strategy had failed, I discovered a signboard for ``Fukutsudome''. We are open for business. The store looks like Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), and the signboard in front of the store introduces the menu of ``Chicken Nanban''. Is it chicken nanban? There's no point in being confused, so I just enter the store. "Welcome. Please take a seat wherever you like." I sat down at an empty table for four. I looked at the lunch menu again. ``There are four flavors of chicken nanban, all of which cost 900 yen.'' ``Oh, then I'd like the normal one, please.'' ``Understood.'' Order complete. When I look around, I don't see anyone eating chicken nanban. Everyone was silently eating the food wrapped in aluminum foil along with their rice. "?" marks are flying around in my head. Food is served immediately. ``You can replace the rice. You can also add an egg.'' I see, it's a dish that you can eat a lot. Inside the aluminum foil is a simmering red liquid, chicken and onions. Yeah, this looks delicious. To begin with, I have never formally learned the definition of ``Nanban.'' Understood. This is "chicken nanban". Satisfied, I picked up the chicken from the aluminum foil with chopsticks. eat. Yes, it tastes pretty good. I wonder if it would be good as a snack with alcohol. Of course it goes well with rice. A salaryman sitting at the next table calls for a replacement. When asked about the amount, I answered "normal size". Yes, it's a nice place to eat. I also face my own ``Chicken Nanban.'' Now, what should we do with the eggs? The instructions on the table give advice on how to eat the egg, such as adding it directly to the nanban or adding it to the rice. Following the instructions, crack a raw egg into ``Nanban''. Leave it for a while to warm up a little. When the time is right, scoop out the yolk with a spoon and place it on top of the rice. Chicken and red nanban soup were also added to the rice. This looks very delicious. Real food. Yeah, this is delicious. I understand the feeling of wanting to have eggs as a substitute for rice. However, eating too much is bad for your health. Take care of yourself. Finished meal. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
