Marugame Seimen is a udon chain that I occasionally visit, specializing in Sanuki udon, as it is close to my office. There is a line at lunchtime, and they have captured the lunch demand in this area perfectly. I ordered a special udon called "meat in a sauce with egg". What's good about this chain is that, in addition to the bukkake and kamaage dishes like those found at real Sanuki udon restaurants, they also have a unique menu that you won't get bored of even if you go every day. They are just the right amount of flashy, so children will enjoy them too. One bite and, yes, the sweetness of the meat itself and the seasoning hit me hard, and the udon has a chewy texture with just the right amount of hardness and stickiness, making it delicious. Overall, it has the consistency and simplicity of Family restaurant, which is the result of the company's efforts and marketing. This may be Shiodome's daytime oasis.
