虎ノ門「鯨の胃袋」の2号店。ランチで鯨の赤身ステーキやユッケ丼、竜田揚げなどをいただけます。この日は竜田揚げに尾の身の刺身を追加。
・くじら熟成赤身の竜田揚げ¥1000、尾の身¥500
竜田揚げは注文を受けてから揚げるのでカラッと揚がっていてサクサク。しっかり目の歯応えに生姜の風味ですが、鯨のクセがやや強めです。もう少し下味を強めにした方が良さそう。
尾の身もアブラが乗ってますが、鮮度の問題なのかこちらもややクセが強めですね。たっぷりの生姜とニンニクなどでくさみを消したいところ。
普段鯨を食べ慣れていないので、余計に強くクセを感じたのかもしれませんが、鯨を食べられるお店は貴重なので、鯨素人でも抵抗なく食べられるよう調理、味付けにもうひと工夫してほしいところかと。ごちそうさまでした。
