Maisen (Izutsu Maisen Co., Ltd.) is available everywhere in Japan. There are probably very few people who have never tried it. Although there are a huge number Stores, there are surprisingly few Restaurants, with only restaurant in Japan, mainly in the Kanto region. However, overseas, there are 18 restaurant in the four ASEAN countries of Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia, which is more than the restaurant in Japan. After participating in a watch collection by a French luxury jewelry manufacturer held at the Tokyo Station Hotel, I visited the Daimaru Tokyo store. This type of event, like luxury hotels, will likely shift to a wealthy inbound tourist base. Now, at Maisen Restaurants, there are different brands of pork: ● Sweet Temptation (Chiba Nakayorkshire breed) ● Kurobuta (pure Berkshire breed) ● Chamiton (raised on catechin-only feed) Only Chamiton has "katsu curry (loin or fillet)", so I ordered ● Chamiton loin katsu curry (1,780 yen). "Maisen's Katsu Curry Sauce" is also sold in retort pouches, and when I asked the staff, I heard that the taste has changed. Of course, it contains pork extract, but it also contains chicken extract, fond de veau, and the essence of pork, chicken, and beef, the umami of vegetables, and the sweetness of apples, resulting in a refined taste. It is the opposite of spicy curry and different from the European style of hotels, and reminded me a little of the curry at Nakamuraya (this is my personal opinion). It was a very well-made curry. My partner didn't want rice, so we tried to order a "fillet cutlet sandwich", but it was already sold out. So we combined the single dishes "fillet cutlet", "shrimp cream Croquette", and "black pork tonjiru", and this curry is said to be designed to go well with not only Pork Cutlet, but also with Fried food. Since it is a pork cutlet curry, I thought that we couldn't have more cabbage or rice, but they said it was OK, so we each had more. Hmm, we ate too much. Thank you for the meal!
