I had dinner with a junior colleague who I've known for a long time. We met at KITTE in Marunouchi, Tokyo Station, which is easily accessible to both of us. Long ago, before smartphones, we got gourmet information from magazines and such. TokyoWalker and Pia Map Gourmet were very helpful to me. I remember that in those days, when you said Omelette Rice in Tokyo, you had Nihonbashi Taimeken, Azabujuban Grill Mantenboshi, and Kyobashi Don Pierre (there were others, but please forgive me as this is only my memory). At that time, Kyobashi Don Pierre was famous for its large, high-class Omelette Rice. I went there on dates with my wife before we got married, and also took my young daughter there (^^). After that, it moved to Ginza 1-chome, and several branches were opened. Today's Don Pierre Heart is one of them. While drinking wine, we had a charcuterie platter, an appetizer platter, Angus beef Steak, and chicken Omelette Rice for the end. Omelette Rice was neatly wrapped with plenty of eggs. The chicken rice inside was also rich in flavor. I was able to enjoy the nostalgic taste. In a casual atmosphere, I had a great time talking with my junior colleague and ended up drinking quite a bit, but the bill was reasonable. It was a happy time. If you want to experience the luxurious atmosphere of those days, the main store is probably the place to go. I haven't been there since it moved, so I'd like to go!
