日本橋駅から徒歩１分、日本橋高島屋の南向かいの雑居ビル地下１階にある仙台旬風冨和利。
昼食で利用。
雑居ビルの地下という立地ゆえ、ビルの外壁や手前の歩道にはメニュー写真をいくつも掲げ視認性を高めている。
細い階段を下りて地下へ向かう。店内はいかにも居酒屋という雰囲気を醸し出しているが、照度を抑えつつ木造りの温かみを演出しており田舎の民家を彷彿とさせるような温かさも感じる。席はカウンター10席、4人用半個室2卓、奥に小上がり席が設けられている。卓上には醤油や冷水入りポットが置かれている。カウンター席は2席ごとにアクリル板で仕切られている。
１２時半頃の訪問で、客の入りは7割ほど。客の男女比は8:2くらい。
ランチメニューは、「特大唐揚げ」1,000円、「日替り定食」1,100円、「豚トロ＆おでん」「牛ハラミ丼」各1,200円。ご飯のお替りは無料とのこと。その月の日替りメニューをカレンダー方式で掲げているのは親切。
この日は、特大唐揚げを注文。
注文から４分後、特大唐揚げ定食のご提供。
メインの唐揚げの他、ご飯、お通し、刺身、味噌汁、漬物という構成。
唐揚げは3個。10cm四方くらいのサイズがあり、厚みもまあまああり排骨みたいな印象を受け、確かに「特大」の名に恥じないビッグサイズ。唐揚げの脇にはキャベツの千切り、マヨネーズ、レモン1切れが添えられている。
唐揚げは下味がついており、調味料を使わなくてもそのまま食べられる、と書くとポジティブな表現になるが、実は塩味がつきすぎておりかなり塩辛い。鶏肉は適度な弾力があり食べやすい。若干の臭みがあったものの十分許容範囲内で、味付けで臭みを抑えなくてもいいのにと感じてしまった。
お通しはきんぴらごぼう、刺身はカツオ2切れ。カツオは新鮮味こそそれなりだが処理のしかたが巧くきちんと食べられる。個人的にはこちらがメインだったら満足度は高かったと感じる。
侮れないのがご飯。さすが米どころの宮城を売りにする店だけあって米の甘味がじんわり感じられるうえ、出汁の風味も感じられるものでなかなかのもの。
味噌汁は優しい味わいで、ネギ、ワカメ、油揚げが入っている。漬物は柴漬けで、いかにも既製品っぽい点は気にならないものの量が3切れだったのは残念。
支払には各種電子マネーやQR決済が利用可能。席上のポップにもキャッシュレス推進の旨の記載があった。
ご飯のレベルの高さは強調材料になるものの、メインが今一つという印象。価格設定だがこのご時世、さらには地下とはいえ日本橋の一等地という立地を考えるとある程度やむを得ないもののやや高めに感じてしまう。ただ、昼と同料金でランチタイムの定食が夜も食べられるのはポイントで、夜に手頃な値段で定食を食べられるというのはチェーン店やファストフード以外では貴重な存在。
店員の応対はまあまあといったところ。温かく、かつ騒がしくない店内の雰囲気は悪くない。
「仙台」を店名に冠していながらランチタイムは日替りの一部を除き郷土料理にありつけないのは寂しいものの、夜の部は地酒や郷土料理が揃い魅力的で、またランチタイムと同料金で定食を食べられる点も含め夜こそ使い勝手はありそう。
