Kamoya SUN is a duck specialty restaurant that opened about five years ago in a back alley in Ningyocho. Duck specialty restaurants are rare, but this restaurant's specialty seems to be "duck Yakiniku (Grilled meat)". I had been interested in it for a while, and when I was passing by, I saw that there seemed to be an available seat, so I popped in. Luckily, I was able to slip into a seat. Looking at the menu, in addition to single dishes, there are many duck dishes such as "duck appetizers", "duck Sushi", "duck Yakiniku (Grilled meat)", and "duck hotpot". There is beer as a drink, but the wine selection is quite extensive. I ordered "Duck sashimi platter (2,000 yen)", "Duck thigh shabu shabu and wild vegetable salad (1,300 yen)", and "6 kinds of duck Yakiniku (Grilled meat) platter (6,000 yen)". The first thing that came out was soup. A soup made with grated new onions in duck stock. It was incredibly delicious. It's nice to start with a dish like this. So I ordered duck sashimi. It was a 3-item platter, and I think it was breast, liver, and heart. The standard breast meat, of course, as well as the liver and heart, had just the right texture and feel. The salad that came next was also high quality, so I was looking forward to Yakiniku (Grilled meat). The condiments and grill were brought out, and finally the 6-item platter appeared. The 6 types were "breast (loin)", "heart", "liver", "thigh", "gizzard", "tsukune" and "neck meat". There were also 5 types of condiments (dipping sauces). The menu lists the recommended ways to grill each meat and what to dip it in, so please refer to it, but personally, the red miso was a hit. The other one was probably white soy sauce. I don't think it's very common to grill duck like this, but it's not very fatty and it's light, so it's strange how you can't stop eating it. If you don't eat duck very often, I recommend starting from this restaurant. Definitely.
