Bistro FUJI is located on the second floor of a multi-tenant building near Ebisu Shrine, a 5-6 minute walk from Ebisu Station. This restaurant was opened in 2018 by the owner who gained experience working at Fujiya Honten Grill Bar in Sangenjaya. Inside the restaurant, counter seats surround the kitchen. There are about 20 seats at the counter, and there are some small tables, but the distance between them is perfect for two people. A glass of wine costs about 1,000 yen, but considering the quality, I wish they would have put a little more effort into it. Both the highball and beer cost close to 1,000 yen, and the alcohol felt expensive compared to the food. Raw mushroom and watercress salad. It's a salad that is surprisingly large in quantity and has plenty of grated cheese, so it goes well with wine. The pate de campagne also has a great taste and is thick. The pickled vinegar garnish was also very good, and at 800 yen for this dish, it was definitely a good value, and the fact that it was cheaper than a highball might be some kind of bug. Spicy tomato stew with beef offal. The flavor is true to the name of the dish, and you'll want to eat it as pasta. By the way, our only choice of carbohydrates is rice cooked in cocotte, and the price is 3,000 yen. I wish it had a little more sugar content. Grilled seasonal vegetables and hummus. As expected, the taste is true to the name of the dish, and it is a perfect menu to fill the occasion while waiting for the main dish. The main dish was roasted Magret duck. Anyway, I wonder if I can cook properly with the lights this dim. At least I couldn't see the exact color of the wine. We shared the above, drank some and the bill was just over 8,000 yen per person. Considering the location and the quality of the food, the pricing is not bad. On the other hand, the alcohol is more expensive than the food, and there is a strange gap between what is good value and what is not, so it may be a place that will test your discernment.
