Isomaru Suisan Higashi-Shinjuku store is located about a 5-minute walk along Okubo-dori from JR Shin-Okubo Station. I visited during lunch time on a holiday. It was very empty even during lunch time on a holiday, which made me feel sad. On the way to this store, I passed by Shin-Okubo station, but I wondered what was going on. So many people. Compared to the surrounding shops, where there were long lines, this shop was quite quiet. As a customer of the store, it's really nice (lol) Now, I sat down at the counter and thought about what I should do. Ordering is done using a tablet, but I had trouble finding the set menu. Full set meal? In that category, there were set meals. It's a little hard to understand (sweat) I ordered one of them that I've never tried before [b: ``Thick Sliced Sweet and Salted Salmon Set Meal'' (989 yen including tax)]. At that time, I asked for [b: normal serving of rice, warm toro roudon]. [b: Thick-sliced sweet and salted salmon set meal] It was served in about 10 minutes. What does it feel like to be thickly sliced? That's what I thought, but it was indeed thickly sliced (lol) It seemed like it would be quite filling. This week's dish was fried white fish. As usual, this set menu is quite luxurious and has a large number of items. The main course, the thick-sliced sweet and salted salmon, was grilled well and didn't have many bones, so it was easy to eat. The taste is quite delicious, and I personally feel that the quality of Isomaru Suisan's grilled fish is fairly high quality. The hokke that I ate was far more delicious than the ones I had at other Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) lunches. And there's volume, too. Also, Isomaru Suisan's grilled fish comes with grated daikon radish, but the grated radish feels like coarsely ground (or is that what you call it?) cubes and not completely grated. I really like this in terms of texture. It's also quite nice to have potato salad. And then I thought again, I think it would be better to have seaweed soup instead of yam. If you feel like you don't have enough, it seems like you can have a larger portion of rice for set meals, so that's fine. Personally, I prefer seaweed soup to this yam soup when it comes to soup. When I finished eating all the food that day, I was full and felt like I was in for a treat. Isomaru Suisan has many shops around Shinjuku that I haven't visited yet, so I plan to visit them again soon. Thank you for the meal.
