この4月は、古くからの元同僚たちとの再会が続き、ワイン愛好家との会食の次は日本酒愛好家との一席をこちらの新宿東口店で設定した。
かねてより全国の銘酒が原価で提供されることは知っていたが、思わぬ訪問に戸惑い(ワクワクし)ながらも当日予約をして訪問した。
実際に足を運んでみると、今の時代に良くあるQRコードでの注文するスタイルであり、接客や客層も含め店内の雰囲気は想像以上にカジュアルであり、若い世代にも日本酒が広く受け入れられていることがわかった。また、インバウンド(欧米系)のカップルも見かけたので、日本酒というカルチャーに対する自身の認識(日本酒 = オジサン、男性、日本人のお酒)を改めねばと実感した。
確かに手ごろな価格で数多くの日本酒を楽しむことはできたが、一回の提供量が100mlであり、ふたりで飲むとおちょこ一杯強分にしかならないため、終始利き酒感覚で終わってしまい、数多くの種類を頼んでしたためどの銘柄が印象的だったという結論にまで至らなかったという意外な結末が待っていた。ふだん一銘柄につき一定量(最低でも一合)を2、3種類を飲むけれど、少量を楽しむからこそ若い世代には受けるのかも知れない。
料理はどれも良かったので、次回は飲み方を変えてみるのもありかも知れない。
